Our counselor Ms. Freeman took us to plant bluebonnets on the hill by our school. She talked to us about how each seed is like taking a chance. Sometimes things go the way we want them to in life and our seed grows. Sometimes things don't go smoothly and a seed dies. We need to take lots of chances in life and try things even if it's difficult or we worry we might mess up. The more we try at something the more likely we are to succeed. We each planted a whole handful of seeds. Look for our bluebonnets this Spring!
We are learning about money. We had fun sorting our coins. How many ways can you think to sort coins? The class worked in pairs and found that they could sort them by: color, value, presidents, size, haircuts (long or short), one or two story buildings, smooth and rough edges, and tossing them and sorting by heads and tails.
Science Fest was a big success! Thank you volunteers! The kids were so inspired by what they saw and learned.
